Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب الحج باب ما جاء فى مواقيت الإحرام لأهل الآفاق
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِى زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَّتَ لأَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ الْعَقِيقَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ. وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِىٍّ هُوَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِىِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, appointed al-‘Aqīq (1) as the starting point of consecration (2) for residents of [regions located toward] the east (3).
(1): A valley that lies about one hundred kilometers north-east of Makkah. (2): (iḥrām) A state of sanctity for the rituals of pilgrimage and 'umrah. (3): Anyone whose residence is outside Makkah in the direction of the east, including north-east and south-east regions.
