Abdullāh Ibn-Umar related that the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, "Pray in your homes (1) and do not turn them into graves (2)." Footnotes (1): i.e. Pray voluntary prayers in your homes. (2): The whole surface of earth is a place for prayer; the only place where one does not pray is in the grave. This analogy points to the similarity between a house where prayer is not maintained and the grave.
