Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب فضائل الجهاد باب ما جاء فى فضل الجهاد

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِى مَرْزُوقٌ أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعْنِى يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْمُجَاهِدُ فِى سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ ضَامِنٌ إِنْ قَبَضْتُهُ أَوْرَثْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِنْ رَجَعْتُهُ رَجَعْتُهُ بِأَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ. قَالَ هُوَ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said - meaning that God, Almighty and Sublime is He, says, "The striver in the way of God (1) has My pledge, if I take him (by death), to make him inherit Paradise, and if I return him, I return him with reward or booty."
(1) Jihād is defined as any earnest striving for the sake of God that promotes righteousness and stands against wrong-doing. If it entails fighting, no woman, child or innocent civilian may be harmed, nor a tree cut down. Islām calls for moderation and tolerance, and abhors and forbids extremism, terrorism, oppression and discrimination. (3) The credit recorded for performing a righteous deed accountable on the Day of Judgment
