Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب الصلاة باب ما جاء فى الوقت الأول من الفضل
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِىِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهُ يَا عَلِىُّ ثَلاَثٌ لاَ تُؤَخِّرْهَا الصَّلاَةُ إِذَا آنَتْ وَالْجَنَازَةُ إِذَا حَضَرَتْ وَالأَيِّمُ إِذَا وَجَدْتَ لَهَا كُفْؤًا. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ حَسَنٌ.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, "Aliy! three [things] you should not delay: the prayer when it is due, the funeral [prayer] when it (the enshrouded body) arrives, and [the marriage of] a single woman when you find her a suitable match(1)."
(1) A suitable husband: i.e. a man who is similar in religion, freedom, righteousness, and family background and who is able to support his family.
