The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “Convey from me, even if only one verse, and tell of the Israelites without unease (1). And whoever lies about me intentionally, then let him (2) occupy his place in the Fire.” Footnotes: (1) The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, allowed us to tell the stories of the Israelites to learn lessons from them. Narrating their stories does not entail relating rulings from their books as these were superseded by what was revealed to the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him. A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, asking for a mount. The Prophet could not find him a mount, so he guided him to someone else who provided him with it. The man came back to the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and informed him of that. Thereupon the Prophet said, "Indeed, the one who guides to good is equally rewarded as the one who does it." Click on ḥadīth to read more
