ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY
“ Abū-Tha'labah al-Khushanī said, "I said, 'Messenger of God, we are hunters.' He replied, 'If you send your dog out, and you evoke the name of God upon it, then eat what it catches for you.' I asked, 'Even if the dog kills [the catch]?' He replied, 'Even if it kills it.' "I said, 'We hunt with bow and arrow.' He replied, 'Eat what you catch with your arrows.' I said, 'We are travelers and we pass through [the regions of] Jews, Christians and fire worshipers and find only their utensils [to use for our food].' He replied, 'If they are the only utensils you can find, wash them with water and then eat and drink out of them.'" ”
