Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب صفة الجنة باب ما جاء فى صف أهل الجنة
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِىِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِى قُبَّةٍ نَحْوًا مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ. قَالُوا نَعَمْ. قَالَ أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ. قَالُوا نَعَمْ . قَالَ أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا شَطْرَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لاَ يَدْخُلُهَا إِلاَّ نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ مَا أَنْتُمْ فِى الشِّرْكِ إِلاَّ كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِى جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الأَسْوَدِ أَوْ كَالشَّعْرَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِى جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الأَحْمَرِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ. وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ وَأَبِى سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىِّ.
ʻAbdullāh Ibn-Masʻūd said, "There were around forty of us with the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him. We were in a domed tent [made of hide], when the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, asked, 'Would it please you to be a quarter of the people of Paradise?' We said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Would it please you to be a third of the people of Paradise?' We said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Would it please you to be half of the people of Paradise? Indeed, no one enters Paradise but a Muslim soul; and [when compared] to the polytheists [in number], you are but a white hair on the hide of a black bull, or a black hair on the hide of a red bull.'" A good authentic ḥadīth reported by at-Tirmithī, "The Book of Describing Paradise", in Sunan at-Tirmithī: ḥadīth number 2744, narrated by ʻAbdullāh Ibn-Masʻūd Ibn-Ghāfal al-Huṯẖalī.
