Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب صفة الجنة باب ما جاء فى صفة شجر الجنة
حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىِّ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ فِى الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةٌ يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِى ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ عَامٍ لاَ يَقْطَعُهَا وَقَالَ ذَلِكَ الظِّلُّ الْمَمْدُودُ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “In Paradise is a tree in whose shade a rider can travel for a hundred years and [still] not traverse it.” He added, “That is the extended shade.1'”
1- The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was referring to the Qur’ānic verse (56 [Al-Wāqi`ah]: 30). A good scarce ḥadīth reported by at-Tirmithī: "the Book of Describing Paradise", in Sunan at-Tirmithī: ḥadīth number 2715, narrated by Saʻd Ibn-Mālik Ibn-Sinān, Abū-Saʻīd al-Khudrī.
