ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he (1) speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays that trust." Footnote: (1): Masculine pronouns are generally used in Arabic as a means for referring to both men and women when the meaning is left general and is not otherwise specified. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy

A man swore that his wife had committed adultery (1). The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, ordered the couple to separate (2) and attributed the child to the mother [with regards to kinship and inheritance]. (1) A man who accuses his wife of adultery swears to it four times and the fifth time ensures that he will be deserving of God's curse if he is lying. (2) Only a judge or ruler may separate a man from his wife in such cases. Click on ḥadīth to read more
