ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, urged us upon going to bed to say, "O God, Lord of the Heavens and Lord of the Earths, our Lord and the Lord of everything, the cleaver of the grain and date seed, revealer of the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur’an, I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything that You hold by the forelock. You are the First, there is nothing before You and You are the Last, there is nothing after You, the Manifest, there is nothing above you, and the Immanent, there is nothing below You. Settle my debt, and spare me from poverty." ”

‘Umar said, “Paternal relatives [of the killer] are to pay off the blood money; and the wife [of the victim] does not inherit anything from her husband's blood money.” Aḍ-Ḍaḥḥāk Ibn-Sufyān al-Kilābī told ‘Umar that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, had written to him, [instructing him] to let the wife of Ashyam aḍ-Ḍibābī inherit a share from her husband's blood money.
