MUHAMMAD’S TEACHINGS TO MANKIND

ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ Ibn-‘Abbas said, "One day, I was riding behind the Messenger of God peace and blessings of God be upon him when he told me, 'Young boy, I shall teach you some words: Be mindful of God, and God will protect you. Be mindful of God, and you will find Him there for you. If you ask, ask of God; and if you seek help, then seek help from God. And know that if all people were to gather to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which God has already written for you, and that if they were to gather to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except with that which God has already written against you.The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried (1)." Footnotes: (1) What has been decreed and inscribed in the Preserved Tablet cannot be changed. ”

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
