ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ It is of the sunnah (the Prophet's tradition)(1) that the tashahhud (2) be recited silently. Footnotes: (1) Record of the tradition of prophet Muḥammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, including his sayings, actions, biography, physical and behavioral depiction, and his approval of something said or done by his companions in his presence. (2) An invocation that is recited in the middle and at the end of prayer, while sitting. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب الصلاة باب ما جاء من الرخصة فى السمر بعد العشاء

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِى صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم زَائِرَاتِ الْقُبُورِ وَالْمَتَّخِذِينَ عَلَيْهَا الْمَسَاجِدَ وَالسُّرُجَ. قَالَ وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ. وَأَبُو صَالِحٍ هَذَا هُوَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ وَاسْمُهُ بَاذَانُ وَيُقَالُ بَاذَامُ أَيْضًا.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, cursed the female visitors of graves (1), and those who build mosques and place lanterns over them. Footnotes: (1) At-Tirmithī mentioned in the Book of Funerals that some scholars were of the opinion that this was before the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, permitted visiting graves and that this permission included both men and women.
