ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to Paradise, and on it he was made to descend from it. And on it is an hour during which, any Muslim bondsman who prays and asks God for something, He grants it to him.” Abū-Hurayrah said, “I met 'Abdullāh Ibn-Salām, and I mentioned this hadīth (1) to him. He said, 'I know which hour it is.' So I said, 'Tell me, and indeed, do not withhold it from me.' He replied, 'It is after the afternoon prayer (2) until the sun sets.' So I asked, 'How could it be after the afternoon prayer; the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “during which, any Muslim bondsman who prays,” and this is an hour that should not be prayed in?' 'Abdullāh Ibn-Salām then replied, 'Did the Messenger of God not say, “Whoever sits in a place awaiting prayer is considered in a state of prayer”?' 'Yes,' I replied. 'That is it,' he said.” Footnotes: (1): The Prophet's sayings, actions, and consents as narrated by his Companions. (2): third prescribed prayer of the day. ”

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, used to go to battle accompanied by Umm-Sulaym and a group of women from Al-Anṣār (Supporters of Madīnah) who provided drinking water and nursed the wounded. Click on ḥadīth to read more
