MUHAMMAD’S TEACHINGS TO MANKIND

ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ Abū-Ḥayyah said, "I saw 'Alī perform ablution. He washed his hands (up to the wrists) until he cleansed them. Then, he rinsed his mouth three times, and washed his nose three times (by sniffing water into it then blowing it out). He washed his face three times and his arms (up to the elbows) three times. He wiped his head once, then washed his feet up to the ankles. He then stood up, took the unused ablution water, and drank it while standing. He then said, 'I wanted to demonstrate to you the ablution of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him.' " ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب الأضاحى باب ما جاء فى الأضحية بكبشين

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ ضَحَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ ذَبَحَهُمَا بِيَدِهِ وَسَمَّى وَكَبَّرَ وَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا. قَالَ وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِىٍّ وَعَائِشَةَ وَأَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِى أَيُّوبَ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَبِى الدَّرْدَاءِ وَأَبِى رَافِعٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِى بَكْرَةَ أَيْضًا. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, sacrificed two black and white(1) horned rams. He slaughtered them by his own hands, saying, "In the name of God, God is the greatest," and placing his leg on their [right] side [as he did so]. Footnotes: (1) more white than black in color.
