“ The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “When one of you loves his (1) brother [in Islam], let him know that." Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب البيوع باب ما جاء فى كراهية تلقى البيوع

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِىُّ عَنْ أَبِى عُثْمَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ تَلَقِّى الْبُيُوعِ. قَالَ وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِىٍّ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِى سَعِيدٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِىِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, forbade intercepting sales (before vendors entered the marketplace) (1). Footnotes: (1) To ensure that transactions are carried out at fair prices for both locals and travelers, it is forbidden to meet merchants outside of the city or marketplace and to engage in trade before they have become aware of local market prices.
