MUHAMMAD’S TEACHINGS TO MANKIND
“ Ḥakīm Ibn-Ḥizām went to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and said, "Men come to me asking to buy things that I do not have. Should I conclude the sale, then buy [the goods] from the market, and deliver to them?" The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, replied, "Do not sell what you do not have(1)." Footnotes: (1) I.e., money should not pass hands without the merchandise present. ”
