MUHAMMAD’S TEACHINGS TO MANKIND
“ ʻUmar Ibnul-Khaṭṭāb said, "When this verse, 'And among them will be the wretched and the prosperous' (11 [Hūd]: 105), was revealed, I asked the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, 'Prophet of God, for what then should we work? For something that has already been decided? Or something that is [still] undecided?' He replied, 'For something that has been decided, and that the pens have inscribed, ʻUmar! But each person is eased towards what he (1) has been created for.'"
