حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِىُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِىِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَالْحَسَنِ ابْنَىْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ زَمَنَ خَيْبَرَ وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الأَهْلِيَّةِ.
At the time of [the Battle of] Khaybar, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, prohibited fixed-term marriages (1) as well as [the consumption of] the flesh of domesticated donkeys. Footnote: (1): Also called 'marriage of pleasure'. A type of marriage that was allowed in the early years of the Madinan community and was later banned, in which a woman agrees to marry a man for a limited period of time stated in the contract of marriage. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِى الشَّوَارِبِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِى صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَلْعَقْ أَصَابِعَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِى فِى أَيَّتِهِنَّ الْبَرَكَةُ. قَالَ وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ. وَكَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَأَنَسٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُهَيْلٍ. وَسَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدًا عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ مِنَ الْمُخْتَلِفِ لاَ يُعْرَفُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِهِ.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “After you finish eating, lick your fingers (1), for you do not know in which lies the blessing (2).” Footnotes: (1) the middle finger, the index finger and the thumb. حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِىِّ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ الْبَغْدَادِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْقَزِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ أَبِى عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ أَبِى عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِىِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِى ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لاَ يَحْقِرَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيَلْقَ أَخَاهُ بِوَجْهٍ طَلِيقٍ وَإِنِ اشْتَرَيْتَ لَحْمًا أَوْ طَبَخْتَ قِدْرًا فَأَكْثِرْ مَرَقَتَهُ وَاغْرِفْ لِجَارِكَ مِنْهُ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِى عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِىِّ.

And were it not possible (to do a good deed), then at least meet your brother with a gracious countenance.
